How to Make Brown Sugar Cassava Lamate

So today I will make a traditional cake from Central Java and East Java, this cake has a very strange name and usually this cake is often sold in every city in Central Java and East Java. East Java. This cake is made with cassava mixed with brown sugar.

Well, the ingredients you need to prepare to make Lemet are 1 kg of cassava or as you wish, 250 grams of brown sugar, granulated sugar, rice flour, grated coconut and finally salt. Don't forget to add banana leaves. Now let's start with the first step.

The first step you need to do is peel and clean all the cassava you have prepared, then grind all the cassava until it is drained and smooth. Use the smallest grater.

In the second stage, if all the cassava is grated, all that remains is to strain all the cassava using a clean cloth, then tie the cloth and squeeze it by hand until only the cassava pulp remains. This method is faster than using filters.

Third step, after drying the cassava, now add 1 grated coconut, half a teaspoon of salt and finally 2 tablespoons of sugar. Then stir until everything is evenly mixed.

Step Five After the brown sugar has been cut into small pieces, all that remains is to add all the brown sugar to the mixture earlier. Then keep stirring until the color of the dough changes to the color of brown sugar.

Sixth stage, after kneading the dough until the color turns brown, add 1 tablespoon of rice flour to the dough. Step seven, now prepare the banana leaves and clean them first using a clean cloth. Use young banana leaves so that the dough cooks faster when steamed.

Eighth step, after you have prepared the banana leaf and you have cleaned it, now you have to take enough flour and put it in the center of the banana leaf which you have cleaned.

Step 9: After you put the cassava mixture on the banana leaf, roll the banana leaf as shown in the picture above.

Step Ten, After you roll the banana leaf, then fold the top and bottom of the banana leaf that you filled with dough earlier. Repeat steps 7 through 10 until the banana leaf and cassava mixture is used up.

In the last step you have to prepare the steamer then arrange the banana leaves with cassava flour. You can see the picture above. I made it pretty sticky because this cake is my favorite cake. Then steam all the lambets for about 30 minutes on medium heat and cover with a cloth and cover with a lid.

And finally, after waiting for 30 minutes, you can now enjoy the traditional Lamet Cake for your family and friends. It tastes so good and makes me addicted to eating this traditional cake.
