How to Make Chocolate Glutinous Layer Cake

So this Tuesday I will share a recipe that is quite unique and has a very tasty coating, this sticky chocolate layer cake is spread all over Indonesia as a very tasty snack, using glutinous rice and cocoa powder, makes this dish quite nice. To make this dish, all you need to buy and prepare is glutinous rice, cassava that you strain until the cassava water is gone, then coconut milk, cocoa powder, food coloring to taste, salt, sugar, 1 egg, rice . flour and flour. After all the ingredients are ready, now let's start the first step of making the chocolate layer sticky cake.

The first step you need to do is prepare a pan, pour 300 ml of coconut milk into the pan and add all the glutinous rice you have prepared. Then cook the glutinous rice till the coconut milk thickens on medium flame. Then stir constantly for faster cooking.

In the second step, after you cook the glutinous rice until the coconut milk is gone, now prepare the steamer and steam the glutinous rice for about 20 minutes. Add 1 pandan leaf to make the glutinous rice more fragrant and perfect.

In the third step, when the glutinous rice is steamed for about 20 minutes, now we will prepare the second layer of dough for this dish. First make a space and pour in 150 grams of sugar or the equivalent of 7 tablespoons, then 1 grain, 20 grams of flour, half a tablespoon of salt and 100 grams of rice flour. Then keep stirring until all the ingredients are well mixed.

In the fifth step, after stirring the coconut milk until it is well mixed, now divide it into 2 mixtures as shown in the picture above, then add food color to the desired mixture and add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the other mixture. Then stir the two flours until the two flours change color.

Sixth step, after making the second and third layers of dough, all that is left now is to make a base with 1 baking sheet and banana leaves so that the dough can be easily removed after steaming. Then place all the glutinous rice in the pan and compact it using a spatula or spoon.

In the last step, after the last layer has steamed for 25 minutes, remove the tin and let it cool for about 10 minutes to make it easier for you to cut the chocolate sticky rice layer cake. Next, cut using a plastic coated knife so that the cake does not stick to the knife.
