How to Make Auk Cake (Traditional Food)

Today I will share a traditional auk cake recipe, have you heard of this auk cake? If not, then we are the same. This auk cake is from Central Java, Indonesia. This cake is made with ingredients that are easily available to you, one of which is rice flour, glutinous rice flour and several other ingredients. Curious about the process of making this auk cake? Well, the ingredients you need to prepare to make this traditional auk cake are rice flour, glutinous rice flour, grated coconut which is only white, salt, brown sugar, pandan leaves, vanilla and lastly half a glass of mineral water. After you have prepared all these materials, now let's start from the first stage.

In the first step you need to prepare a pot and pour 125 grams of rice flour or equivalent to 9 tablespoons and add pandan leaves to add to the aroma of the dough.

Second stage, after adding the previous ingredients, now prepare the steamer and steam the rice flour for about 20 to 25 minutes and close.

In the third step, when the rice flour is steamed for 20 to 25 minutes, now prepare the brown sugar and cut the brown sugar into small pieces as shown in the picture above. Also prepare some banana leaves for the base of the steamed auk cake.

Step four, after you have steamed the rice flour for 20 minutes, now make a place and pour all the rice flour that was steamed earlier. Then add 2 tablespoons of glutinous rice flour to the mixture, then stir until everything is well combined.

Fifth stage, after you mix the steamed rice flour with the glutinous rice flour, now add the grated heads of your choice. Then keep stirring the mixture again until the grated coconut is evenly mixed with the mixture.

Sixth step, after you stir the grated coconut and flour until they are evenly distributed, now make a small bowl and add 1 teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of vanilla, then pour a little hot water, then add the salt and vanilla. stir until Run out late

Step Seven After stirring until the salt and vanilla dissolve, slowly pour in the grated coconut mixture you made earlier while stirring. Stir until the dough is completely moist.

Eighth step, after you pour the salt solution into the flour and stir until evenly distributed, now make a place or small mold, then put the dough according to the place or mold you are using, then make a hole in the middle. Knead the dough.
